Cristina Farmaki is currently working at the Computational Bio-Medicine Laboratory (CBML) of the Institute of Computer Science (ICS) at FORTH. She received her B.S. degree in Electrical Engineering from the Polytechnic School of the University of Patras in 2006, and her M.S. in biomedical informatics from the Computer Science department of the University of Crete in 2009. She has participated in many national and European projects involving multilevel cancer modeling, e-health and biomedical signal analysis in search of biomarkers of neurological diseases. She has published a plethora of papers at international conferences and scientific journals related to her research interests, focusing on biomedical image analysis (EEG, MEG, EOG), medical image processing (MRI, fMRI), neuroscience and brain-computer interfaces. She has also specialized in programming, machine learning and programming of Arduino microcontrollers used in robotic automation. Furthermore, she has successfully conducted many neuroscience experiments on real subjects, thus acquiring significant knowledge regarding the use of EEG recorders and the analysis of needs and requirements of BCI users.
